Green Eyes

As I look into your dark green eyes

I see myself falling

Into the middle of a dark forest

There's a clearing ahead

I notice a marble table and bench

Two plate settings have been set

I look around but there's no one around

Far off I can hear a melodic voice singing

And I notice it is coming closer

I stand like a statue awaiting it's arrival

Looking in the direction of the voice

At first all I can see is a shadow

And as it gets closer to the clearing

I notice that the shadow, barefoot,

Wears a long satin gown

Expecting to see the face next

The shadow and singing stop

It seems an eternity

Just standing there, not knowing

But then the shadow approaches

Little by little

A chin, a smile, your dark green eyes

And as you keep getting closer

I fall right into those dark green eyes again
